Barrons Lumber Looking for Accounting Manager Job At Gaithersburg, MD

Under the general direction of the Controller, the Accounting Manager will perform accounting department functions not limited to auditing, budgeting, taxes, preparation of financial statements and recordkeeping.

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES

· Review and posting of journal entries; Preparation of journal entries as needed

· Oversight of month-end accounting close functions

· Collect, analyze and summarize account information

· Review of staff members’ work as needed

· Review and analysis of account reconciliations

· Review of monthly reporting (income and departmental statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows) for management review

· Review and analysis of key variance accounts on a monthly basis; make corrections as necessary and report results to management

· Assist in the monthly financial statement consolidation as needed

· Provide variance analysis (v. budget and/or v. prior periods and/or v. forecast)

· Supply internal audit team with information and analysis for SOX and other internal audit testing as required

· Supply external audit team with information and analysis for annual audits and quarterly reviews as required

· Support budget and forecast processes as required

· Keep up with accounting standard updates, regulations and legislation

· Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures; work to advance and promote the safety culture of the organization

· Special projects as requested by management

· Supervision and development of accounting staff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
